you've only ever heard us play the one time. and yes we were shit, but now we've had some more practise etc, and we're alright. You've not heard us play since May, remember?
the kind of gigs we play means we can't go along and do a full set of original songs because the crowd will just get bored, you've got to have some crowd pleasers, songs they can sing along to and recognise, and maybe we don't want to unleash the emoness on the poor old town of runcorn just yet.
oh, and p.s. you're a bastard and i hate you
kthxbye.

no you fuckwit duh do you know nothing about gigging? you put in about 50 50 covers originals for a small set and for a large set put about 20% covers, that way the crowd hears your music to know what you sound like but doesn't get bored with hearing songs they dont know, never play an all covers set unless you are playing weddings etc or someone has booked you as a covers band, otherwise people will write you off as a covers band also you'll never give anyone a chance to hear what your songs sound like

I'm sort of dissapointed, Dave.
You used to be worth arguing with.
At least your arguments used to be well structured and have good grounds.
Now, what, you're judging us when you haven't heard us since May? Jeesh. Would it kill you to be nice to someone once in a blue fucking moon. We don't go around randomly insulting your band.
Now, David, here's some advice. If you want to actually live, rather than get beaten up by somebody who is actually bigger than you and isn't going to take any of your "better than thou" crap, try getting over your over inflated ego, remove your head from your arse, and listen to other people and give them a chance.

*smiles sweetly* you know, a bit of friendly challenging i can handle, but you thinking you're so much better than everyone i cannot, so just leave me the fuck alone, okay? i didn't ask you to comment, i was simply telling the people who may be interested that we happen to be playing a gig on saturday, and obviously it has nothing to do with you nor would i want it to.
and yes, i'm sure everyone will write us off as a covers band, because so many hugely important people are going to be at the Brindley. you know, maybe we're just having a bit of fun, okay? maybe we just want to have a good time, doing what we like to do? what's wrong with that?
but i guess, if david says its wrong then it must be, because you know, he is god and all. you might want to get a bucket to catch the dripping sarcasm.
loz, help me out here and correct me if i'm wrong. Andthensome? Played one original song in their full length set, right? And the crowd loved them? I'm pretty sure i'm right about them. I do have a setlist upstairs and all...
so piss off and stop trying to tell us whats right and whats wrong, we'll do it our way, okay? we don't need some jumped up pretentious elitist telling us what to do. Fuckass.

oh and battle of bands? i believe 37.5% volume did two covers and possibly an original, i couldn't really tell?
theres not alot of bands who don't do covers david, get over yourself.
and you know, maybe we just want to take our time with our own songs, because they're going to represent us as people and we want quality. Perfectionists, if you will. We're not just going to reel off the first song we do if we decide its not good enough, or if we decide its not a suitable representation of Sweet Revenge.

The first time I saw Andthensome... one of the bands they were with were really really good. They didn't do *any* original material in their set of about 10 songs, I don't think. And, it doesn't matter to me really, because they did good quality covers. They weren't playing to sell albums, or make big fans, they were playing to have fun.
And unlike the almighty godlike David Parker, I am in this to have fun.

david, dude, can you not see that they take all your little comments seriously. If you write lots of big long insults about people and include actual facts about them even if you are only messing, they are obviously going to think that you believe at least some of what you are saying. what if they started writing big long paragraphs saying that you are just a typical pathetic teenager trying and failing to pull off the indie thing because you want to be cool? i know that in this particular argument you have done nothing like that, but you have said similar things before. you have said almost identical things to that about me except that i am just the pathetic new-metal boy instead of indie. i'm not being serious about any of what i just said, i just made it all up on the spot to demonstrate that if someone did say that to you, you would be rather annoyed and get strong urges to argue with them about it, even if they were only joking. i dont take get all offended when you say stuff like that to me, but i know you alot better then they do, so you cant blame them for being offended. you are just random person insulting the things they take seriously from the other side of the world.
